“Most people go in loaded with their power point presentations and talk a bunch about themselves and their product. This often leads to a longer sales call than needed.“
I think many people have this mindset that they have to close every call they get on. This often leads to the calls becoming sales-y, conversations dragging on longer than they need to, and the customer not even buying in the end.
I try to take the approach of finding a mutually beneficial relationship. The service isn’t for everyone, nor do I really want it to be. If customers want something simpler or more hands-off, I’ll usually recommend they try out Buffer instead.
“Thinking back to my earlier days I had this made up dream in my head…”
I was certainly guilty of this for the first couple months. Even after reading many articles advising against this, I still had this precomposed fantasy of launching a product and making money without going through the grind of one-on-one sales calls.
Thanks for the claps and the support! Hoping to climb to 1k MRR by Feb.
